Led crazy-fast hardware development:Drove renewable energy technology from idea to full-scale pilot-plant in 25 months (iterating through 9 working prototypes).Accomplishments:• Invented core technology concept and founded HydroRun to develop hydrokinetic power systems utilizing autonomous tethered gliders.• The system trades steel for software, reducing material and installation expense, yielding a cost of energy at 4¢/kWh.• Raised over $2M from private equity investment funds by recognizing a $55B market opportunity.• Built an effective, close-knit, multidisciplinary (software, firmware, electrical, mechanical, sales) team through careful hiring, culling when needed, and deliberate creation of positive company culture.• Constructed 1,100lb, 10ft-span, fully autonomous glider capable of 20,000lbf lift, and hydraulic power take-off with 40kW electrical output.• Oversaw successful field deployments involving up to 5 surface vessels, multiple crane lifts, 20 crew and tight time constraints through careful task-oriented planning.• Managed filing of provisional and PCT patent filing technology concept and implementation.• Set up a 7000 sq-ft prototyping shop including various CNC machines, composite layup, 3D printing, laser cutting and TIG welding.• Developed extensive field and marine operations capabilities with a continual focus on safety, having zero lost-time accidents.
