About Joel Gómez

Joel is a corporate lawyer, law professor and international speaker. He has obtained an LL.B. degree from Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) and an LL.M. degree at the University of Arizona (USA). He has postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom. Since 1996, Gomez has focused his career on law and technology, especially as it affects privacy and intellectual property. For 12 years, he was legal manager and country counsel of transnational companies (NCR and British American Tobacco). Mr. Gomez is Founding President of the Mexican Academy of Computer Law (2001) and Founding President of the Digital Law School (2020). He has been invited to deliver more than 500 lectures on academic and professional programs in 13 countries. Professor Gomez has received 21 national and international awards. For the past 23 years, he has taught graduate courses at ITESM, UNAM, Universidad Panamericana, Escuela Libre de Derecho and UDEM, amongst others.
