Among other topics this includes how their views on food overlap with sustainability and ethics, how consumers are responding to innovation in the food space and beyond and finding opportunities for growth. I also present to top tier CGP and tech companies and write for prominent media publications.

As an account manager on the foodservice team I worked closely with clients to generate insights to help address specific business issues using NPD's CREST service and other customized deliverables. The main goal in many of my analyses was to identify white space opportunities for growth and advise on how to navigate potential challenges in the market.As an industry analyst I authored reports that drove incremental revenue, gave media interviews, and identified trends and their implications based on newly released industry data.

As the Food and Beverage Industry Analyst, I was responsible for providing insights to CPG and grocery retail companies through actionable reports and engaging presentations. In addition to this, I also liaised with media publications to help position NPD as a thought leader in Canada's food and beverage industry.

At Loblaw I was responsible for the topline analysis of two of Canada’s largest brands, President’s Choice and No Name. Using POS data, third party syndicated sources and proprietary consumer information; my primary objective was to identify drivers of growth and areas of opportunity for the company’s mature private label program.

During my time in the research department at OMD I had two primary roles. First, ensure media strategists and buyers were armed with the most up to date information and tools to provide maximum value to their clients using unbiased, fact based data. Secondly, enhance OMD's stature as a knowledge leader for understanding the complexities of the media industry, leading to client retention and revenue generation.

As part of my university co-operative experience, I worked in the Ontario Ministry of the Environment's communications department. During my extended term there, I worked on a variety of projects including creating communications plans for technical ministry files including to waste management, air pollution and climate change. I also briefed ministerial staff on political developments at Queen's Park.

Ottawa, Canada Area

While working in Elections Canada's Policy and Research Department during a university co-op term, I served on a team that briefed the Chief Electoral Officer on the legal and policy implications of amendments to the Canada Elections Act. This was primarily in support of his appearance before the House Parliamentary Committee that debated technical and political aspects of the bill.

During my university co-op work term at the Donner Canadian Foundation, I researched and summarized policy implications for grant proposals put before the Board of Governors. Topics included broader policy questions around economics, health care and environment mixed with more hands-on, community focused proposals (such as providing computers to after school clubs).
