- I led the development of the organisation's strategic aims, and objectives, using principles of co-production to ensure young adults, colleagues and trustees were meaningfully involved - I led a working group of colleagues and young adults to co-produce ESTEEM's first guide to youth participation which is now used to improve practice across the organisation - I increased young adult representation on the board of trustees, and created a robust induction process to ensure 'lived experience' trustees are safely welcomed onto the board- I upskilled our staff team by designing and delivering bespoke training courses on safeguarding for the specific cohort of young adults who attend ESTEEM, those aged 14-26- I created a beginning-to-end Safer Recruitment guide, integrating and improving numerous existing documents and streamlining recruitment practices across the organistaion

I led a team of frontline workers and managers, and managed a budget of half a million pounds. I held cross-organisational responsibility for safeguarding, youth participation, and data and impact.Key achievements:- I took a leading role in the development of our three-year strategy and ensured youth participation was a strategic aim for the first time in our history- I identified an error in our outcomes data and then developed a new client management system using Apricot database software that provided more accurate and attributable data - I oversaw the development of one of our youth-led projects into a standalone charity, led by and for young people, We Belong- I led the development and implementation of a new, shared outcomes framework for all of our direct work with young people, including casework in our legal directorate- I commissioned the first external review of our advocacy service and led implementing the recommendations, including the creation of our first advocacy practice handbook- I established a staff wellbeing and resilience programme and secured funding for external facilitators to provide reflective practice to all frontline practitioners- I improved our services by mapping our client journey for the first time, reducing the time taken for our casework teams to decide whether they could take on new referrals, and establishing an automated SMS client feedback system - I took a leading role in two organisational restructures and led the restructure of my directorate which enabled us to provide better support to the management team- I led large-scale funding bids and secured funding from foundations including The National Lottery, Children in Need, Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Esme Fairbairn Foundation, and the City Bridge Trust- I improved our safeguarding systems by comprehensively redrafting our Safeguarding policy and procedure documents, and creating an automated monitoring system that integrated with our CMS

I managed youth participation and youth development projects and staff at Just for Kids Law. This included the ‘Let Us Learn’ campaign that works at the intersection between education and immigration. I facilitated the growth of Let Us Learn from an individual advocacy matter, to an issue based youth group, to a funded, youth led campaign with national reach. The campaign enabled hundreds of young people to take up their places at university through the use of community organising and legal and non-legal advocacy. I managed ongoing casework and communications with over five hundred young people who were impacted by the issue, plus the campaign website and Twitter feed. Aside from Let Us Learn, I developed participation opportunities for young people throughout Just for Kids Law and supported the development of other youth-led projects, often stemming from individual advocacy work. This included supporting young people to draft responses to consultations on the youth justice and care systems. I secured and reported on external funding and drafted a tender document for research relevant to the work of Just for Kids Law. I subsequently delivered this research - into the impact on young people of the changes to legal aid - and wrote the final, published report.

I supported a caseload of young people into education, employment and training opportunities. I maximised limited resources by recruiting and training volunteers who provided services including CV and interview advice to young people. I built relationships with external providers to enable young people to access a range of opportunities with a particular focus on employers who would take on young people with convictions. I contributed to the bid that secured grant-funding which would enable the project to continue for another two years.

I coordinated the work of the young graduates of this NGO's training programme as they staffed a profit-making restaurant. I introduced systems including a stock-check system that enabled a greater understanding and control over the business. I developed their social media presence with a focus on Facebook and increased online customer engagement.

I researched new project and funding possibilities for this community-based Malawian youth project. I overcame IT limitations to complete medium-sized grant applications for UN-HABITAT and Oxfam.

I managed a team of youth workers and a community centre that was used by multiple agencies as well as large groups of young people. I secured external funding that enabled a successful football project to continue and local authority funding for an annual skate festival for two consecutive years. I increased participation opportunities by coordinating the Youth Opportunity Fund panel of young people and worked with a group of young men to establish what became a successful boxing project.

I supported young people who were struggling with their studies and provided on-call behaviour support to students and staff. I established and voluntarily staffed a lunch-time common-room for GCSE students in a disused classroom. I created a rota for the team of teaching assistants that enabled us to ensure we were always able to cater for the students most in need of support.

I saved money by reducing staff costs as general manager of the Hop Poles and Eagle public houses. I increased revenue by introducing film nights and improving customer service skills in the staff team.
