At the discretion of the Chief Business Officer, I interned in various departments of Business Services, including Nutrition Services, Maintenance, Operations, Facilities and Transportation (MOFT), and Fiscal Services. Additionally, I shadowed various people in District Leadership Positions, obtaining unique insight into the administration of public education systems (public purchase bids, allocation of funds, human resources, etc). I gained valuable skills in office administration and accounting. My educational goal was to analyze the role of the local bureaucrat as a public administrator.I held the substitute secretarial role in Nutrition Services for six months, relieving the leadership team of clerical and administrative duties and supporting the Director in other tasks as assigned. I assisted the Account Clerk in processing payments, fulfilling purchase requests, and other accounting responsibilities. Currently, I am supporting the Accounts Payable Department of Fiscal Services to compensate for vacant accountant positions; my responsibilities include processing invoices from District vendors and other related assignments.During my time at the District, I gained one-of-a-kind experience working with the Los Angeles County Office of Education's Business Enhancement System Transformation (BEST) Software, an intuitive financial management system. Specifically, my area of knowledge includes entering purchase requisitions (XREQ), commodity payment requests (PRC), and general accounting expenditures (GAX).

My role includes managing general operations of the church Media department, including weekly broadcast production, strategic marketing and communication strategies, volunteer scheduling, and training. I administer the department’s vision setting, action planning, and oversaw the implementation of state-of-the-art equipment upgrades. My greatest accomplishment in this role has been expanding the team into a multifaceted department encompassing various new sub-departments with wide reach in various functions (social media, graphic design, web services, etc.), substantially increasing the church’s online presence. Currently, I manage a team of 15 volunteer staff members, including one assistant director, one administrative assistant, and two supervisors, with a turnover rate of 0%.Thanks to the strategic efforts of this department, the organization received the "Best of West Covina Award" in 2022, 2023, and 2024, recognizing exceptional marketing success in the community and in the church business category. As a result of receiving the award for three consecutive years, our organization was inducted into the West Covina Business Hall of Fame.
