Jewish Cultural Quarter was established as a successful marketing concept for four institutions of memory and celebration, the Jewish Historical Museum, the Portuguese Synagogue complex, the Hollandsche Schouwburg, the National Holocaust Museum and the Children Museum of JHM. The Hollandsche Schouwburg | National Holocaust Museum and Monument was established as a Memorial for the Shoah in 1961 and became an educational museum under the leadership of JHM in 1992.
