Worked in the Digital Technology group (ELD/GIS team) as the primary IT resource behind NB Power's work order system.NB Power's work order system is centered around a third-party solution called WorkStudio (by GeoDigital). WorkStudio stores all work orders in a MS SQL Server 2014 database. Power line designers using WorkStudio client software on Panasonic Toughbooks can operate in a disconnected environment by temporarily storing work orders in local MS SQL Server 2014 Express databases. Business/finance users can view, track, approve work orders using the WorkStudio InfoCenter web front-end.My responsibilities fell into the following categories:- Database Administrator: Maintain WorkStudio's vendor database, as well as the NB Power custom database. Duties include: SQL Server updates, migrations, sharing of views.- Database Analyst/Developer: Support and enhance the large code base that drives virtually all work order automation, validation and interfaces with other corporate systems (Transact-SQL, SQL CLR). Duties include: bug fixes, enhancements, analysis, design and development on new modules in coordination with team and vendor.- Application Support & Config: Act as the front-line IT support for WorkStudio. Duties include: resolve user WorkStudio issues, escalate issues to vendor, install software updates, coordinate outages.
