About Joel Kraft
I have a Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and currently work in the LGS Labs operational group at CACI. During my time at LGS/CACI I have contributed on BSR development teams tasked with finding solutions and implementing unique and specialized products, features, and fixes around different radio access technologies. My main focus has been the physical and lower stack layers of GSM, UMTS, and 5G cellular protocols. I have developed new features in existing, established systems, and I have also been involved with bringing up new embedded systems with the physical layers of these protocols and integrating them with existing protocol stacks. In addition to the physical layers, I have worked on a broad section of a UMTS protocol stack and have touched areas ranging from tuning the full scale power of IQ sample to custom adjustments and additions in upper layer state machines and processes for new feature and capability development.I was the Technical Lead and Head Developer for a cross team project focused on the integration of a UMTS physical layer onto new custom hardware and with an existing protocol stack. Besides the development aspects, my responsibilities included creating a project road map that met customer requirements, collaborating with technical experts to define and create manageable work items, and delegating and overseeing development across several teams to ensure task completion. I enjoy programming, solving problems, learning new things, and working on tasks that make a difference. I am hard working, don’t give up easily, and enjoy collaborating with others to accomplish large tasks.
Listed skills include Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Java, Electronics, and 22 others.
