Joel Almeida is a Digital Economy Advisor at the Ministry of Digital Economy - Government of Cabo Verde, where he supports the development and implementation of policies and strategies to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation in the country. He has over six years of experience in building ecosystems and startups, as a co-founder of Buldanho Inovação e Tecnologia an initiative that aim to empower and connect young innovators and entrepreneurs in Cabo Verde and beyond.Joel is also a creative professional with a background in graphic design and communication, and a passion for arts and culture. He is a TEDx Organizer and a Mandela Washington Fellow (#YALi), a prestigious program created by former US President Barack Obama to recognize and support emerging African leaders. He always brings his unique creative flair to the table, whether he is designing, coaching, singing, or building ecosystems and startups. He believes that creativity is the key to solving the most complex challenges of the digital economy and society.
