I'm a staff reporter at Manufacturing Dive. As a University of Maryland graduate with a journalism and business management dual degree, I'm fascinated by human-centered and big authority stories.Over the past few years, I've worked at Royal Media as a data reporter, The Escape Home, a real estate and business publication in New York City, and as a news staff writer at the Diamondback, UMD's student-run newspaper. While working at these publications, I greatly improved my interview and communication skills, source diversifying, and writing and editing on a deadline. I also had an internship with the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism where I wrote a long-form piece on how historical newspapers aided and abetted lynchings and racial terror in the south. I continued to work with them my final year of college as a data reporter building R script notebooks for an investigative project into police brutality.During my time at school, I took thought-provoking, multimedia journalism classes that fine-tune my technology skills with softwares like Premiere Pro, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and more. My interest in journalism has encouraged me to become more involved with the surrounding community, and I am very grateful to have served as the President of the UMD Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.I also enjoyed my business courses, which have enhanced my Microsoft Excel abilities and further developed my curiosity in entrepreneurship and eco-friendly policies and products. In the fall of 2022, I started my own sustainable and philanthropic college apparel company. Around The Block was a passion project that turned into a full-on viable business. In April 2023, we won 1st place in the Main Street Track of the Pitch Dingman Competition at the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship. I also studied abroad in Paris, France at Skema Business School in order to see how other cultures valued and prioritized business objectives differently than Americans. At the renowned Grande École, corporate social responsibility and strategic marketing classes taught me how to analyze and conduct industry research and set marketing metrics for businesses. For six months, I embraced my French heritage, discovered my love for their cuisine, laissez-faire culture and gorgeous language.When I'm not writing articles in the middle of the night or conducting interviews, I love reading books, journaling, daydreaming about traveling and living abroad, running and hanging out with friends and family.
