Joelle Dhing is a current emergency department nurse valuing hard work and patient advocacy. She worked throughout her undergraduate career and still received both honors and Dean’s list.Joelle’s passion for bettering the wellbeing of others does not stop at the hospital/clinic level. She also competed in the Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Pageant to advocate for better health education for Chinese immigrants. She prided herself for being one of, if not the only, contestant with a plan to help the community through events hosted by bilingual physicians/nurses who would re-educate on topics requested by the public. Her end goal was for the program to spread to help other immigrants struggling to gain appropriate knowledge of their health because of the language barrier. Joelle’s passions lie in helping the vulnerable no matter how much work it takes.
