Other tasks included producing detailed design drawings with AutoCAD Electrical on a limited time scale, using AutoCAD Electrical and investigating possibilities for rail electrification power flow and fault studies with DIgSILENT PowerFactory.Through helping review various proposals and reports, writing up pieces of research and verification for projects, my professional writing skills were refined. When feeding back information to people, I learnt to communicate the important elements to be most effective.

Torness Power Station

Spent a summer undertaking several projects which involved communicating clearly across departments and integrating well into my own team, where I was trusted to carry out regular plant walk downs. The projects included analysing the efficiency of a fire detection system airline, considering solutions for faulty sodium hypochlorite pumps and completing a compliance tracker for the station’s fire protection routines.
