Intending to stay a year with Descartes after the Scancode acquisition to ensure success in the on-boarding of the Scancode staff and customers. By year two I was hooked on Descartes Global Logistics Network strategy and I stayed on to manage the South Eastern US for the next five years. It was a big learning experience for me, I had great mentors at Descartes and it made me realize that I really wanted to try my hand at building a network of my own as a public company CEO. I am truly proud to have been part of a winning team at Descartes and left some lifelong friends and partners there to pursue my dream.

Tasked with representing the Scancode shareholders in an M&A strategy. I was responsible for searching out prospective suitors and negotiating the terms and conditions for the transition of the Scancode North American Business, its 55 employees and its hundreds of client accounts to the buyer.

Named as the Executive Vice President, North America of Scancode post merger with Pulse One Solutions Group, I was responsible for the overall combined company management and strategy. My mandate was to blend the Canadian and US Teams into one cohesive unit and to transition the Canadian client base to the Pulse One Solutions Group product, Order Express.

Co-Founder and Financier of Pulse One Solutions Group Inc. An Atlanta based tech start developing the first SAAS model of logistics and supply chain management. Our product, Order Express gained quick retailer adoption due to its low capital outlay for a premium logistics platform. Gaining over 75 US customers in the first year in business, including DHL Global, The POSGI team then expanded sales of Order Express North into Canada by way of merger with Scancode, the then Canadian market leader for logistics solutions. The Order Express platform is still used today by some of the largest retail shippers in the world and is now owned by Descartes. The founding members of POSGI are now Executives at Descartes, Federal Express and Cortex.

I worked at Kewill post the EVCOR acquisition as VP of their 6 Branch East Coast Operations. Having gone from 15 Direct reports at EVCOR to 150+ at Kewill, this was a huge learning experience for me on what it takes to lead a group of people spread across a large geographic area. I also learned that company lay offs can happen even if your group is performing well and it hurt. It also awakened a fire in me to want to be the person responsible for keeping the staff employed and I promised myself that as the leader, I would ensure we were always growing. I did my best and won some awards, but realized quickly that I had bigger plans and dreams to pursue.

My first business. I took on a loan, bought an Atlanta based mailing machine reseller to save mine and my 10 coworkers jobs. We transitioned from selling mailing machines to mailing software and from a service company to a software company. EVCOR became a national reseller of several brands of Parcel Shipping and mailing automation software. We sold the company in 2000 to Kewill, a London based technology public company. I learned that owning your own IP has merits, but EBITDA is everything when valuing a tech company, I met my first investment bankers and I proudly participated in a 65M industry wide roll-up at the age of 28.
