Founding Member and first Executive Director of Girl on the Run Orange County (GOTROC). Helped to organize, file and form this new 501(c)(3) in Orange County joining over 220 Girls on the Run chapters throughout the US and Canada. Served as its first Executive Director, formed the Board of Directors and managed all operational aspects of this newly, formed nonprofit. Managed the strategic plans for all aspects and sought sponsorship for both community-wide 5K races held each year for our girls in our program.Girls on the Run inspires and empowers girls to be joyful, healthy and confident though our activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
