About Joelle Koh

"Occupational therapy is not about 'fixing' people; it's about empowering individuals to engage in meaningful activities that enrich their lives." This quote by an unknown author perfectly encapsulates my philosophy as an aspiring Occupational Therapist. I am currently a first year student at the Singapore Institute of Technology, working towards a degree in Occupational Therapy. As an aspiring Occupational Therapist, I am deeply committed to empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in meaningful occupations. My passion for this field was ignited during my time as a full-time preschool teacher at MOE Kindergarten, where I witnessed firsthand the transformative impact Occupational Therapists have on the lives of children with special needs. This experience inspired me to pursue a career where I can make a difference and help others achieve their full potential. On top of the prior knowledge and experiences I had as an early childhood teacher, I am looking forward to equipping myself with the new knowledge and skills in my current study in occupational therapy and as an active member in school. I hope that in the near future, I would be able to make a difference in the lives of children through the field of occupational therapy.
