As a technical designer, I worked closely and partnered with my creative design, production and merchandising counterparts to execute the fit and construction of our lifestyle product, spanning from outerwear to tops, dresses and rompers. My primary responsibility after nailing down the fit of each style was communicating with our manufacturers around the world in detail to ensure they understand what we want each style to look and fit like before producing in bulk.

I worked within the technical design department at Sid Mashburn, where my primary responsibility was ensuring that all men's Made-to-Measure shirting was perfect by utilizing Gerber software. I also digitized handmade patterns to send to our factories around the world, collaborating with internal and external partners to help deliver the best product for Mashburn customers. Helping manage the behind-the-scenes production process of a blossoming custom design program definitely presented its challenges, but I worked hard to master Gerber Pattern Design Software all while balancing daily communication with their factory contacts, maintaining a dynamic MTM order PDM document, keeping the team up to date by presenting weekly progress reports and anything else the design department needed.

When I first moved to Atlanta to obtain my Master's at SCAD, this shapewear giant gave me the opportunity to intern. My most recent work experience at the time lent itself more toward merchandising, so they placed me within the Hosiery & Intimates merchandising department to aid in competitor research and analysis, creating grids and presentation boards to present the design evolution of the company's top-selling items and their respective numbers, organizing documents to highlight each stage of their product development process and more. This experience helped me understand the necessity of cross-functional collaboration between merchandising, design, and product development.
