As part of my role in Dr. Shalesh Kaushal's clinic, I perform a full work up on patients throughout the day prior to their visitation with the doctor himself, including checking vision, intraocular pressure, and performing dilation. Additionally, I review all patients' medical histories and current medication with them, and update all the aforementioned information into their EMRs. I also often take on the role of Medical Scribe for Dr. Kaushal, following him from room to room and updating information into the patients' medical records in accordance with his professional findings.

As a member of Dr. Takahiro Soda's research lab, I actively distribute surveys to patients in the Shands Psychiatry Unit as part of data collection for a research study surrounding barriers to genetic testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders at UF. Analyzed REDCap data and coded patient data for a study on reasons for declining this genetic testing. Beginning to write two different research papers using this acquired data, centered on the disparities in diagnosis and diagnostics for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Mentor freshmen students who are part of the University Research Scholars Program, offering guidance in order to aid them in their transition to UF and the Honors and URSP Programs and act as a source to which any questions about requirements for either of these programs or general questions about the university and class schedules can be directed.
