Mr. Markland manages BCA’s strategic business decisions and is directly involved with the execution of the company's large, high visibility projects. As President, he is responsible for the company’s vision and drives the corporate culture. Mr. Markland works with clients to develop appropriate strategies to address their needs and is passionate about building partnerships and growing relationships with clients. Mr. Markland is a nationally recognized expert in brownfields redevelopment, working with local government agencies, non-profits, and private stakeholders to develop funding strategies to facilitate the redevelopment of brownfields and other contaminated properties. His professional experience includes environmental investigation and remediation, brownfield program management, providing technical assistance to municipal clients, grant writing, community outreach, and client relations. Mr. Markland also has a passion for brownfields policy. He is in regular contact with both state and national lawmakers, discussing the critical role that state and federal funding plays to help redevelop brownfields, encouraging economic development and community revitalization. He has played an integral role as an advocate for increased state and federal investment in brownfields programs.BCA is a solutions company.
