Before I joined Tony's Acoustic Challenge, it was a small guitar lesson membership site with about 300 active users.Within one year of my hiring, I helped grow the site to well over 1600 students and 10x'd the revenue. This job was a master class in learning to develop content with the express purpose of generating leads, and funneling those leads through automated email sales systems. I crafted and managed all the email automation workflows and became intimately familiar with CRM systems in doing so.I also was the head of tech support and community management on the site and was highly involved in customer retention and satisfaction. I communicated with members, captured testimonials, answered their tech questions, and developed new content based on their feedback and desires.It was here that I finally filled the gap that I was missing in my earlier marketing work. The wheels that connected content to sales were spinning, and so I decided to take the knowledge that I had accumulated here and go off on my own to see how many other businesses I could transform with this newfound understanding.

The Vanajeros project was the odyssey of four film school friends piling themselves into a 1984 VW Vanagon, stocked to the gills with filmmaking and photo equipment. We were on a mission to document our travels and the stories of the people that we met along the way as we traversed from Bozeman, Montana to Cuenca, Ecuador over 6 long months.Our sole purpose was to reach as many people as we possibly could.And reach we did. After raising $18k on Kickstarter, and picking up a myriad of other sponsorships to fund our journey, we amassed over 20k Instagram followers, and 4k Facebook followers. This was my crash course in creating an audience, nurturing it, and letting it grow. Now that I understood the path to engagement, I still needed to check another box off my digital marketing checklist: Learning how to use that engagement to sell. And so at the end of the trip, I found myself at the next phase of my development [Tony's Acoustic Challenge]...

My career in digital media all began at Chisel Industries, which was at the time one of the most sought after production houses in the state of Montana. Although I came onto the scene as a post-production specialist, I quickly transitioned into a full producer of content, crafting scripts, storyboards, and full on campaigns for our clients.It was here that I gained an understanding for the process of film production on a commercial level. I learned how to cultivate client relationships and illustrate meaningful narratives wrapped in brand-centric messaging.But yet something was still nagging at me. Even though I had learned to produce videos with values of $50k or more, I was still missing the crucial element of understanding how to use that content to drive engagement. And that's what led me on the most impactful and important adventure of my life [Vanajeros].

When I started working at the Communications and Public Affairs department of Montana State University, I was tasked with the sole responsibility of collecting and digitizing almost every single piece of programming that MontanaPBS had ever produced, then making it available online through PBS' own COVE video streaming service. As I continued to work there over the years, my responsibilities grew to filming and editing school events, guest lectures, and special internet features.
