Worked individually and as part of teams to produce budgets ranging from conceptual to GMP on various types of projects that included education, retail, commercial and military. Team roles varied from leader to support. Significant projects included Streets of Buckhead (multi-use), Executive Park at Druid Hills (office park – conceptual), Bank of America Food Court in Charlotte, NC and new, high-rise military housing at the U.S. Army’s Camp Humphreys near Pyongtaek, South Korea. Received recognition award for collaboration in team effort for military housing project in Korea. Left due to lack of work.

Responsible for developing construction budgets, writing contracts, negotiating pricing, procuring materials, updating estimating database, as well as pricing and writing change orders. Through the preparation of detailed cost analyses, budgets and presentations, as well as the rapport I was able to establish with the client, I was largely responsible for Simonini landing contracts to build the Cassique Garden Cottages on Kiawah Island, SC, which has been the most successful project in the company’s portfolio and for which the company has won numerous local, state and national awards. Featured in Coastal Living magazine in October 2005 for their “Cottage of the Year,” constructed in Cassique. Awarded Employee of the Year 2006. Worked closely with owners and subcontractors to successfully prepare conceptual budgets, formulate detailed estimates, negotiate and write contracts, and brief subcontractors about the company’s performance expectations for numerous types of projects ranging from $500,000 to $16 Million. Duties also included processing change orders and producing monthly cost reports for multiple jobs.

Field Engineer duties included, material procurement, quality control, field supervision of various trades including concrete, site electrical, interior finishes and punch list work. Cost Engineer duties included being responsible for producing cost reports for multiple projects in order to effectively forecast the completion and financial outcome of the projects. In turn was promoted to Project Estimator, with responsibilities including estimating and buy-out of various types of projects including churches, sports facilities, education, hospitals/healthcare, manufacturing and retail. The estimates varied from conceptual to GMP. The projects ranged from $3 Million to $350 Million.
