At Harvey Robinson I have been able to assist with the opening of a brand new office on the King's Reach Development in Biggleswade. I have had the opportunity to be hands on, increasing new business levels, developing our office ethos and building up a trusted brand within the area. Responsibilities include:• Registering applicants and identifying their needs and requirements • Completing the full take on process including Photos, Floor Plans and Video Tours• Reviewing weekly and monthly figures• Developing our social media platforms• Assisting with the training of new employees

In November 2018, an opportunity arose in the property management side of the business, and hungry to succeed and expand my overall agency skills, I took on the role. In a short period, I was able to use my previous sales skills to support the existing team, help organise the department a key part of the agency business.

This new environment allowed me to think strategically to aid clients looking to make an investment in the middle to upper end of the local property market.Other responsibilities have included developing the company’s social media profiles and assisting in completing the set up and ongoing development of the company website.

I started at Satchells as a trainee having little previous experience but I enjoy a challenge and I always strive to succeed in every task I am assigned. I am now considered a valued and active member of the team with over three years’ experience. Determined to seek a way to progress my career, I moved from our Letchworth branch over to Hitchin in September and have since been developing my valuation knowledge and style, demonstrating that I am passionate and driven to improve my abilities. This has shown me another depth of estate agency, selling the service that Satchells offer to potential clients and then marketing their property in order to maximise value and gain customer rapport. The main part of my current job is negotiating offers, generating new valuations by building a relationship with applicants, mortgage and conveyancing leads. I work in a small office which helps me to understand my specific roles and how they contribute to a wider team.

Progressing from apprentice to demi chef de partie, I have had the opportunity to practice my biggest childhood hobby in a professional environment, which gave me a real sense pride in my work. I have learnt effective time management skills through the preparation and cooking of food for weddings and corporate functions, as well as having the opportunity to work under pressure in the restaurant kitchen. These organisational skills helped me to maintain a clean and safe working environment, conforming with environmental health and company guidelines. Monitoring expenditures to keep in line with profit margins has taught me to consider my actions in order to be more time efficient and less wasteful. Coordinating a team of chefs and liaising with the front of house staff has developed leadership and communication skills, as well as giving me my first taste of teamwork in a professional working environment.
