Responsible for the DevSecOps aspects of running an AWS (Amazon Web Services) based web SaaS (Software as a Service) tool for utility companies that shared space on telephone poles. This included development, monitoring, operations, & security.The software was multi-tenant and used by large telecom & power companies with multiple environments configured based on the joint use agreements & laws in different US states. I developed on a Microsoft stack utilizing Object Oriented programming & Stored Procedures. Specifically using IIS, ASP.Net, C#, VB.Net, SQL Server & Entity Framework.All of the screens and process flows were controlled with meta data & configuration. This required attention to detail and tools to automate deployments as a routine task. I heavily used Red Gate SQL Compare to diff configurations, schema, and script deployments. This allowed me to work in a fast agile pace and have few errors. All code and database schema and config was versioned and tracked. Then a scripted system deployment could be created that was idempotent & reversible. This would be run to update all dev, test, prod in a consistent manner.Participated in all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements gathering & definitions, design, development, testing, and documentation.Actively recommended hardware and software for use in the entire company balancing cost, performance, and reliability. The search allowed for recommendations about parts based on incomplete or incorrect entry by the customers so they could self-service easier. o Implemented an inventory service that synced inventory from the warehouse management system to the e-commerce catalog so stock, price, and available quantity were accurate. Aviation Labs Oil Analysis (Houston, TX and Kenner, LA) o Migrate an existing DOS based laboratory application into a client server VB.Net Application with ASP.Net web services. o Added ability for customers to receive reports online instead of through the mail for faster turn around. o Design a report that ran a statistical analysis of engine oil results for aircraft engine models based on engine hours, oil hours in service, and results from similar engines. o Automatic warning in color ranges of red, yellow, green if results were outside of the expected statistical ranges. o Included the ability for a laboratory manager to adjust aspects of the report and engine data to make it more accurate.
