Profile bio

About Joel Nolte

I'm a climber. I love to test myself & step into the high, wild places where the immensity and chaos and power of nature stand in stark contrast to our ordered & civilized existence. My growth & development in this pursuit have required both raw tenacity & subtle nuances of perception and technique. My career has been like that as well.Grit and perseverance are key to the success of any endeavor - I’ve run a marathon, hiked half of the Appalachian Trail, soloed multi-day big wall climbs, built my own home, and over time have come to understand that all "problems" are really just opportunities to learn something new. This mindset is a conscious choice that requires slowing down and seeing each situation as a chance to expand and grow. And that’s where the subtlety steps in - as a somewhat unusual combination of a “science guy” and a “people person", I can not only use my technical knowledge/experience and hard science skills to help solve problems in the lab, but also bring emotional intelligence and empathy into interactions with my team members to build trust and connection, so that we can become a more cohesive unit and serve our customers better. In order for a lab to be successful, it's not only the instruments that need to perform - it's the team of people working towards a common goal. I help everyone bring their best individual efforts so that the lab's clients are supported and satisfied. My team knows that they can drop by any time to brainstorm solutions to technical or quality challenges. They can count on me to deliver sound and timely results, nail it in technical writing & review, and share in-depth instrumental analysis experience to advance their projects.Technical Expertise:• Instrumentation: GC • GC/MS • IC • LC • LC/MS• Operations: Hardware/Software • Method Development/Optimization • Training• Quality Assurance: Audits • CAPA • Root Cause Determination • Trend Analysis • SOPs"Without a good question, a good answer has nowhere to go." (Clayton Christensen)

Listed skills include Analytical Chemistry, Gas Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Hplc, and 26 others.
