NAVSYS’ primary business is GPS centric Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contracts, mostly with the Department of Defense. Here I worked the various phases of each contract, from proposal and project management to prototype, production and delivery to final reports. I worked on mostly phase 2 and 3 projects.Diverse Java and C++ development on both Windows and Linux platforms over multiple delivered systems; everything from low level C/C++ real-time drivers to front end Web based and enterprise application based Java• Software based GPS Receiver - Created generic interchange b/t Hard-Real-Time millisecond processing for handling tracking loops and correlation processed on FGPA• Talon NAMATH - Designed and implemented a high fidelity GPS Ephemeris distribution service that could deliver data via alternative means (including Link-16) than satellite in order to increase GPS accuracy dramatically • PGE (Precision GPS Ephemeris) - A continuation of the Talon NAMATH effort, transitioned to an OSGi based component-ized code base that allowed for faster functional growth and easier integration and testing• GEISS (GPS Ephemeris and Ionospheric Correction Sharing Service) - Created a scalable software service infrastructure that allowed for the sharing of GPS information between distributed GPS receivers• LocatorNet - Created a massively scalable distributed job management system based on Hadoop derived Map-Reduce tasking to post process raw GPS signals

I worked mostly on the Integrated Space Command and Control (ISC2) program at Lockheed during the Missile Warning phase where I focused on infrastructure development and deployment. I then transferred to a training group and developed a web based training system to enhance their face-to-face training they had practiced up to that point.• Proposed and prototyped an approach for separation of live vs simulation environment for Missile Warning using VMWare• Created and deployed a SCORM based web training system using Struts • Developed a unified ISC2 wide logging approach and implemented a standardized distributed logging system based on multi-threaded, multi-process, and mutli-platform architecture with generic and plug-in functionality for both Java and C++

CCT was a small startup, the development group for Japan Communications Inc. JCI sold value added cell plans to corporations by buying cell time from the major carriers and then creating specialized plans for customers that allowed for call records to be either charged to the corporation or to the individual, based on a complex set of rules.• Created and maintained C++ and Java applications focused on billing and account management systems that could process hundreds of millions of call records in batches within a couple of days while making updates and testing between billing cycles• Implemented subtle changes to the Rougewave STL collections that improved portions of the processing by a factor of 10• Lead the design/ redesign, architecture and programming of a web based C++ data access interface (CGI based on clustered Linux servers)• Implemented a J2EE based billing system to replace our legacy system which was much more extensible than the previous CORBA/C++ based system and scaled better over the clustered Linux servers and Oracle databases that we used

I spent my first part of my time at MCI working on a trouble ticketing system, integrating CORBA into the backend processing. I also saw an opportunity to enhance the integration of systems in a more general way and was given a team to design and build a multi-purpose data translation and transport system.• Debugged AIX based Web Logic/Tuxedo derived components and CORBA ORB integration into the trouble ticket system• Technical lead, project manager and architect for a data collection system that used any number of various data sources and made them available through a well-defined single interface made available through CORBA, DCOM and socket server using XML to define the models and sources; it integrated more than five different systems within MCI and Woldcom allowing for a faster integration of the two companies infrastructures after their merger

They created systems that managed everything from security access and vending machines to cafeteria and library systems all focused on magnetic swipe and proximity card technology.• Created one of the first ever map based master security monitoring systems for large facilities & campuses that allowed security officers to navigate a digitized university campus via a touch interface and interact with individual floors within buildings, remotely control electronic door locks, get live video feeds and monitor all kinds of alarm and notification incidents• Developed embedded C control systems with C30 processor for managing card readers, magnetic door control and security panels
