Responsible for supporting and managing the chemical laboratory function to operations requirements for field monitoring. Also, for the overall administrative, quality, technical laboratory activities. Manage the chemicals utilized on board of operated Production assets with the aim of guaranteeing flow assurance; maximize production, support for asset integrity and troubleshooting in full compliance with all applicable regulation and international standards;As an Offshore Chemist, I handle all offshore production chemical programs and undertake hydrocarbon, water and gas sampling. I deal with customer requirements in a professional manner to deliver the highest levels of service, safety and compliance; Monitoring all offshore production chemical programs to assess the impact on production, corrosion, integrity and environmental parameters; Performing ongoing optimization of production chemical programs and undertake hydrocarbon, water and gas sampling for routine laboratory analysis following approved procedures; Performing laboratory analysis of hydrocarbon, water and gas samples following approved procedures; Maintaining laboratory equipment, record keeping, and managing site inventories of production and laboratory chemicals; Assisting with troubleshooting and diagnosis of production upsets and issues. Undertaking chemical field trials as required contribution to overall production; Liaising with field Operational personnel to communicate daily tasks and progress status of longer-term activities; Prepare daily/monthly production chemistry reports as required; Implement and follow the company and client’s safety policy, procedures and COSHH; Prepare the laboratory and maintain stock of required chemical and apparatus necessary to perform the experiments successfully; Maintain the records of all lab tests performed; give a unique identity code to all the experiments. Testing of Salt content in Crude oil analysis by standard ASTM procedures. Checking of Crude oil BS&W, RVP, Density and API by ASTM procedures. Checking the oil in water ppm for all types of produced water by EPA 1664 procedure and Micro Biology follow up (SRB); Checking the gas parameters (Dew Point, H2S and CO2) by ASTM procedure; Checking Boiler water parameters through ASTM, HACH and Drew Marine procedures; Methanol in crude checking through Agilent GC; Calibrating the chemical flows according to the inlet flow of crude.
