There is more to life than work. Therefore, after much thoughtful consideration, I decided to resign from the construction business and get back to doing what I like to do. Meaning I am actively updating my skill set with the intent of getting back into architecture, while also spending more time in my studio painting and being artsy.

It was a great summer 'vacation' contracting and rediscovering my center, but i missed being in an architectural office and so i am excited to be starting yet another phase of my career with Blumentals/Architects. I will once again be a Jack-Of-All-Trades, doing QC reviews, drafting (learning Revit both on class and 'on the job'), specs, CA and, most importantly, mentoring. I expect to rejoin and become involved with the local chapter of CSI, and perhaps finally get my spec writing certification. Can i get a "Woo-Hoo!"

After almost thirty years working in architectual offices i am shifting gears slightly. Instead of having to know a little bit about a whole bunch of stuff I am going to learn a lot about one aspect of the industry, and a major aspect at that: glass in most of its installation types. My focus will be on exterior installations, i.e. curtain wall and storefront. I look forward to using my strong personal communication skills and getting out and meeting people. I am interested in talking to others in the field and learning what advice they might offer for someone just getting started.

Mentored junior production staff in Interiors group of the Minneapolis office. Developed initiatives to improve quality of project drawings.
