About Joel Tanzi

I am passionate about software development and have been working as a web and application developer with substantial experience building out APIs, front-end websites scaled for mobile use and mobile applications for iOS and Android across a variety of frameworks and technologies including but not limited to Node.js, JavaScript, CoffeeScript, Ionic, Express, CSS, and SASS using common development tools such as Grunt and Git. I also have developed projects in AngularJS and Angular 2/4, which is a framework I have come to favor. I have attained a solid understanding of AWS operations through hosting my own sites and applications through their services.I have an extensive background in IT and have covered almost every aspect of the user experience; as such I have a very deep understanding of the business end of the user experience. I've spent a career searching out ways for the organizations I have been in to do better in meeting their clients needs. I've been developing my skills as an effective communicator in the business sector for a long time and feel comfortable with presenting in a variety of settings. I've demonstrated that I can contribute effectively as part of a team as well as independently, to which my years of telecommuting from home will testify.I earned a second bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering in 2014 and since then have been working to keep up with the current technologies in use for development. What I possess in addition to what others bring to the field are expert-level communication skills, a broad appreciation of the user experience, a fierce determination, and a demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize many tasks with a proven ability to learn just about anything I need to for a project. JavaScript is where I have spent most of my time, but I have experience working in a variety of languages such as Python, Java, and C/C++.
