Joel is a Senior Principal and Practice Lead in Stantec's Environmental Services - Great Lakes Region and leads a team of professionals skilled in full-service ecological consulting and natural resource management. Joel is responsible for project performance, client relationship management, employee management, safety, and regional growth. Joel and his staff specialize in ecological surveys, habitat evaluations, cultural and historic resource evaluations, natural resource permitting, mitigation planning, conservation banking, ecosystem restoration services, and ecological monitoring. Joel also provides technical assistance with grant writing and oversight of construction / ecological restoration projects. Joel has more than 20 years' experience working with A/E firms, utilities, municipalities, transportation organizations, developers, park districts, conservation groups and watershed managers throughout the Midwest to restore and manage water resources using ecologically informed solutions. He is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and LEED professional. In 2019, Joel received an appointment as a Sr. Principal of Cardno, Inc. for his “consistent performance and dedication to the growth and prosperity” of the firm, its clients and its projects.
