People are fascinating.For me, they always have been. I wasn't somebody that went through my teenage years knowing how I was going to make my living, but I always knew I wanted to do it by working with people. I grew up in daily contact with people that learnt differently from a very early age which helped me develop an empathy for people with a learning disability. Coupled with a naturally inquisitive nature and a thirst to understand people's psychology my conviction to work with people was strengthened, leading me down a path of Business Psychology and Human Resource Management.Having started as a Classroom Assistant for Care First whilst at University, I was lucky enough once I'd passed my degree to be given the opportunity to go in to HR with Care First - and I haven't looked back since! 16 years later I am Operations Director at the Care First Group, working with a driven and passionate team heavily focused on establishing and growing our position as one of the UK's leading day opportunity providers for adults with learning disabilities, autism, behaviours that challenge and complex support needs. My approach to leadership is a collaborative one of pragmatic business strategy with a foundation built on the belief that the most important thing in any business is the people.
