Hi there! Welcome to my Linked-In. My name is Joely Camacho and I would love to tell you about my previous education, job experiences and skills sets. I graduated from Humboldt State University in fall of 2019 with a degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Philosophy. As part of my senior capstone project I worked alongside the Jacoby Creek Land Trust to help fundraise for nearby watershed protection as well as the preservation of the historic barn and garden that reside near Jacoby Creek. While attending Humboldt State, I worked as an after-school program leader at the Freshwater After-School program between the years 2017-2020. In this position I learned how to better problem solve, mediate, and help connect the children I worked with to the outdoors. From Freshwater School District I then went on to accept a job offer at CN Utility Consulting where I was hired on as a Consulting Utility Forester, or a “CUF.” As a CUF, my roles included contact with homeowners, data analysis collection, and a variety of forestry techniques to mitigate fire risk for California’s electrical grid. Through this position I improved greatly on my customer service, time management, and teamwork skills. After my time with CN Utility Consulting, I went on to work for Sierra Forestry Consulting. My job duties were primarily the same as my previous position, it was just under a new contract and company.
