CurrentAs the Public Protection Manager (Pollution / Housing and Licensing), at Trafford Council from 1989 to November, 2015, I have extensive experience in the following areas:Pollution: Air Quality regime – including Air Quality Management Areas, four automatic monitoring stations, none automatic monitoring, and extensive modeling. Contaminated Land regime - remediation of Council owned land, and validating planning applications. Noise and Pollution service requests. Industrial Processes regime – some seventy processes. Planning Consultation:Environmental Impact Assessment verification - numerous development proposals e.g. 20 MW Biomass Plant, 860 MW and 2,150 MW Power Stations, major Commercial / Housing schemes, Public Inquiry witness.Private Sector Housing Standards:Housing, Health and Safety Rating System inspection regime.House in Multiple Occupation regulation, including the licensing regime.Partnership working with social landlords e.g. gas safety regulation.Licensing:All aspects of licensing - involving Alcohol and Regulated Entertainment, including street collections, marriage venues, and scrap metal dealers. Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle licensing and regulation. Hackney Carriage Liaison, Licensing Committees, Sub Committees, and liaison groups. Gambling premises and the gambling regime,Safety at Sports Grounds:Safety at Sports Grounds regime, including the Safety Advisory Group and Sub-Committee involving Manchester United Football Club, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Altrincham FC.
