Joe is responsible for driving the assurance service line response to blockchain by collaborating with EY’s assurance clients and the global blockchain team to implement and deliver a service line-specific strategy. He has 20 years of assurance experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on asset management and digital assets.

Joe is a Partner in the Financial Services Organization within EY. He has seventeen years of experience in serving the financial services industry, with a focus on the asset management industry, hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity funds and internal control reports for administrators. In his role, Joe has coordinated large and complex mutual fund, hedge fund and real estate investment trust audits. His experience includes transfer agent reviews, SSAE 16 reviews, SEC compliance engagements, investment advisor audits, fund mergers, integrated audits, benefit plans and agreed-upon procedures engagements. Currently, Joe is also helping to lead and develop EY’s efforts around blockchain and cryptocurrency. He has helped in the development of firm audit methodology and documentation surrounding various digital assets. Joe has developed and led training courses on accounting and audit issues facing the mutual fund and hedge fund industries and has served as a national audit quality reviewer for our internal assurance practice. Additionally, Joe has served on EY’s national valuation group.
