About Joseph Daniel Mccool

My work continues to focus on helping organizations create competitive advantage through people. As Executive Director - Talent, Human Resources & General Affairs - Americas Region, I provide leadership on key business management, workforce and people development priorities and policies spanning the United States and Canada through Mexico and Brazil to all of South America. As a Member of GC America's Executive Leadership Team, I partner with senior colleagues to effect change through people across all business functions at all levels.My passion for driving business results through people and effective organizational leadership led me to author my first book, Deciding Who Leads (2008 - Davies Black Publishing), which as soonafter followed by my second book, Escolhendo Lideres, published in Brazilian Portuguese (2010 - Editora Saraiva). My study and development of executive search and management succession planning best practices led me to co-author my third book, Board Games: Straight Talk for New Directors & Good Governance (2016 - Praeger Publishing), with former Texas Tech University System Chancellor John T. Montford, who continues to serve as Chairman of the Finance Committee for Southwest Airlines. Our book carried a front-cover Foreword from Herb Kelleher, the legendary co-founder of Southwest Airlines.I earned a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership with a Certificate in Servant Leadership from Gonzaga University, and my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Plymouth State College of the University System of New Hampshire, since renamed Plymouth State University.I have been a member of The Human Resources Leadership Forum, the National Association of Corporate Directors, The Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance Professionals, and the National Eagle Scout Association. I previously served on the North American Advisory Board of Invenias, a UK-based software company, and also as Chairman of the Board of Selge Holdings & Ventures. I was twice elected to serve one-year terms as President of the Plymouth State College Alumni Association, and have received my alma mater's Alumni Achievement Award as well as its Distinguished Alumni Service Award.
