Before even deciding to study for my AAT qualifications it has become apparent that I have various interests and experiences that have helped to strengthen my skills and prepare me for a role in Accountancy/Finance:- I run my own record business where I sell vinyl music records from an online archive. I have to keep up to date with stock, orders and customers, I take pride in my service and always ensure the customers have the best experience, I keep in contact about delivery and any requests or queries are dealt with in a timely manner. My seller rating on the platform I use is a 99.9% positive rating from over 1,000 orders. This has taught me how to remain professional and how important it is to keep a good rapport with customers to ensure their satisfaction.- I have IT experience including Excel from working freelance as an assistant to a Data Analyst to compile and organise data for larger caseloads. This information had to be accurate and remain confidential.- The last 4 years I have kept up to date and invested in the stock market/crypto currencies. This interest, which is self taught, has given me great insight into the finance world and I have had to remain patient, resilient and adaptable to maintain steady profits.In late 2019 I became a first time Dad and that has been the most demanding and rewarding experience. Fast forward to the pandemic and our family circumstances had completely changed. I became full-time care provider of my baby girl. I had to fully adapt to a new environment and working style, juggling care duties, my record business, the stock market and of course my AAT Studies which began in September 2019, 3 months before my daughters birth.
