MDJD is a medico-legal consultancy addressing an array of medicolegal issues. Among them are matters as varied as the National Practitioner Data Bank; hospital privileges; HIPAA, HITECH and patient privacy; EMTALA; risk management; professional licensure; employment contracts; clinical trials; disaster preparedness; the Virginia Birth Injury Fund; pain management issues; and reimbursement. MDJD also provides support to device manufacturers seeking clearance for US marketing, and a medical record review service for litigants in personal injury and wrongful death cases. In aid of such litigants, MDJD offers expert identification and development of alternative causation theories.

Teach medical students and forensic pathology fellows about law applicable to physicians.

For members of CTeL, the Legal Resource Team provides brief recommendations on discrete legal issues pertinent to telemedicine. Matters requiring more intense analysis and effort can be handled through a formal attorney-client relationship with Team members.

MLO is a health law boutique serving health care providers and life sciences companies, focusing on legal issues pertinent to distance care, general health law, risk management, and reimbursement. A majority of MLO's practice today is dedicated to distance care. MLO advises providers on licensure, scope of practice, online prescribing, credentialing and privileging, privacy, professional and product liability, reimbursement, fraud and abuse, and FDA and FTC law as they pertain to telemedicine.
