Helping American Veterans Excel (H.A.V.E)The H.A.V.E. Foundation provides services to veterans and their families in Montgomery, Greene, and Warren counties.According to the Department of Veterans Affairs website, there are roughly 100,000 veterans living in these counties. A report put out by the U.S. Government states that over the next 10 years these 3 counties will increase the veteran population by 30%. This is the largest in Ohio since World War II.The Bureau of Labor Statistics concluded in their study that in Montgomery, Greene, and Warren counties the employment rate will increase by 2% over the next 10 years. This is roughly 40,000 new jobs. If our returning troops were the only ones looking for jobs this would be more than enough, but unfortunately this is not the reality they will be coming home to. Our unemployment rate is the highest it has been since the Great Depression.Our returning heroes deserve to have all of the luxuries that we can give them! They have given of their time and devotion to ensuring our freedom and security. It is now our turn and responsibility to ensure their freedom and security.
