Jazz Arts Project, under the leadership of Founder and Artistic Director Joe Muccioli, is celebrating almost 20 years of community service while maintaining a reputation for presenting world-class concerts and events with the highest artistic excellence. The non-profit, arts organization produces 25-30 events annually throughout the region. From elegant evenings such as the Summer Jazz Cafe series and the Enchanted Evening of Song at the Two River Theater, to the Talkin' Jazz lectures and the ever-popular Sinatra Tribute Gala at the historic Count Basie Theatre, Jazz Arts Project has made a commitment to enhance the cultural landscape of the community and to create unique educational programs for area youth. Many may not know that these events are part of a broader organizational mission to preserve the art of jazz by celebrating the milestones, the heritage, and the future of this great music for generations to come. By creating well-attended annual events we have discovered that it is possible, through the community’s patronage and generous support, to fund many valuable programs for some of our youngest and most vulnerable members of the community. It is perhaps these young people who will become the next great generation of musical artists. It is these children who will become the audience of tomorrow. It is certainly they who will shape our future world in ways we cannot yet imagine.In addition to the Jazz Arts Academy, a year-round intensive music education program that we run in association with the Count Basie Center, Jazz Arts Project offers no-cost opportunities for youth from at-risk and underserved communities to participate in “Head-Start” style music programs. With careful guidance from dedicated instructors, students learn to read, play, and understand music in a most profound way. They gain many cognitive skills in addition to advancing self-confidence, self-control, discipline, respect and a real sense of accomplishment.

Joe Muccioli is an internationally known conductor, orchestrator, musicologist and producer. He is founder and artistic director of the Jazz Arts Project, Inc. and its flagship ensemble the Red Bank Jazz Orchestra, an all star line up of the finest jazz musicians in the region. Currently he is also principle conductor of Orchestra Atlanta, and is conductor and music director for Actor/Entertainer Joe Piscopo, with performances in Atlantic City as well as touring the US and Abroad. Producing and arranging credits include countless live concert events throughout the world as well as recordings of music ensembles and vocalists.

In addition to his conducting activities, Joe Muccioli is active as a producer, music editor, orchestrator, and a noted authority on music notation, editing and engraving. A classically trained musician, he completed his undergraduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music in performance. After a position as assistant principal trumpet in the Symphonic Orchestra of the State of Mexico and a significant and varied career as a freelance musician in New York City, Muccioli shifted his attention to research, publishing, editing, music preparation, conducting and producing, largely in the area of classic jazz.
