BRITE Energy Innovators – Ohio’s energy tech incubator – is dedicated to ensuring the success of startups driving innovation in energy tech. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we offer many in-kind services. These services include consultation services for startups & small-and-medium-size enterprises, lab space and equipment for device testing and R&D and affordable office space. Responsible for establishing, managing and continually improving the key operational and business processes and procedures for a statewide non-profit energy tech incubator Oversaw hiring, onboarding, offboarding, timekeeping, benefits, human resource compliance and performance reviews of staff, consisting of 12 full-time employees, 3 interns, 5 energy fellows and 4 contractors Coordinated between service delivery and finance phasing of over $1 million in grants and contracts, including time tracking, measuring metrics, reporting and resource delegation Monitored and managed organizational policies and systems such as conflicts of interest, emergency plan and other core checklists and documents Reviewed, documented and consistently improved all organizational and operational processes for the business and incubator through SharePoint, Hubspot (CRM) and Microsoft SuiteManaged tenant relations including coworking, guests, security, deliveries, generating revenue and other front-of-house activities Oversaw capital improvements to the facility, including guiding Facilities Supervisor and other contracted services. Capital improvements included $225,000 for construction of a solar array and lab equipment, $78,000 for a joint roof party wall repair and a potential $1 million+ redesign of the BRITE facility. This program is funded by the Food Nutrition Service’s (FNS) branch of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). In the state of Ohio, SNAP-Ed has developed as a partnership between the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services and Ohio State University Extension. Our goal is to improve, within a limited budget, the likelihood of families and individuals who are receiving food assistance benefits (formerly known as food stamps) to make healthy food choices and to choose active lifestyles.
