Experienced and licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, and North Dakota with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering - Power Systems.My career experience started with building automation/control systems including the front end systems and data historians, networks, controllers, and end devices. Customers included very small stand-alone systems to large networked systems with failover redundancy and remote access.I have worked contractor and consulting roles that included complete power system studies (small facilities to large industrial plants), ground grid design, portable substation design, arc flash remediation work, NFPA 70E compliance training, and field service installation and commissioning. This included multiple large industrial customers in northern MN, northern Michigan, and the oil pipelines.I've worked a number of years for an investor owned utility with roles that in distribution engineering and cyber security and compliance. As a distribution engineer, I led the implementation of a distribution automation pilot project, numerous distribution system maintenance and improvement projects, significant improvements on the engineering side of the company's joint use program and PE oversite of designs, guidance/mentorship/oversite of designers, improvement and development of construction standards, resolved power quality issues on the system, and supported large power and municipal customers served. Working in cyber security and compliance, the focus was on documenting and securing substation and other operational cyber assets including Medium and Low Impact and very active involvement in the company's overall NERC CIP program.
