Joe Goldman is the President of the Democracy Fund, a private foundation created by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar to create a more inclusive, multi-racial democracy that is open, just, resilient, and trustworthy. Since their launch in 2014, Democracy Fund and its Omidyar Group-peer Democracy Fund Voice have committed more than $425 million in grants to organizations working to support free and fair elections, a vibrant and equitable public square, effective and accountable governing institutions, and a just and inclusive society.

The board of elections plans and conducts regular and special City elections for Takoma Park, MD. The Board also does voter education and outreach in the community and reviews City election laws and procedures after an election to recommend changes as needed.
