Responsibilities: Analyze data and provide statistical support to FSIS initiatives. Compile literature on consumer purchasing behavior and food safety behaviors. Design a survey and experiments to understand and improve consumer food safety. Analyzing data on industry safety standards and trends in regulatory violations.

Responsibilities: Provide consultation to policy teams regarding research projects design and execution to ensure projects address research questions. Developing a new performance measurement system to include designing management tools to review the data. COR for a $216,206.00 contract. Manage Paperwork Reduction Act submissions.Accomplishments:- Collected performance measures and prepared reports based on the data for senior staff- Collating previous research into a single database improving accessibility and availability- Arranged a “Pi Day” to acknowledge and discuss the influence of mathematics (more specifically data analysis) in the policy work done.- Created a disability flyer to show relevant statistics on persons with disabilities within ODEP.

Responsibilities: Assisted students, faculty and staff with data entry, data analysis, troubleshooting of statistical methods and computational limitations to interpretation of the results and recommendations concerning statistical issues. Taught quarterly statistical computing seminar including multilevel modeling in MPlus, multilevel modeling in R and the use of Excel for data management and basic descriptive statistical and graphical presentation of data.Accomplishments:- Aided many students in completion of homework assignments, class projects, theses and dissertations.- Taught seminars on multilevel modeling in several different types of statistical software as well as a seminar on use of Microsoft Excel for basic statistics and graphics.

Responsibilities: Analyzed small and large data sets using collected surveys. Created tables of descriptive statistics of survey and participant characteristics. Used structural equation modeling; confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistics including expected values, standard deviation, and frequency counts; inferential statistics including confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model and hierarchical generalized linear model and multilevel models. Wrote the methods and results section relevant to the analysis. Assisted professors in connecting the final analysis with the theoretical rationale and on future directions for research.Accomplishments:- Helped resolve a challenge to a poor longitudinal study design (questions changed during the study period) on political engagement of graduates.- Assisted with the fit of a zero inflated negative binomial regression model. The nesting effect by schools required a multilevel model to account for the correlation that may exist based on the university from which they graduated and predict rates of community participation of college graduates in a study with community participation in integers and very high zero counts.- Prepared an in depth literature review on policy analysis of barriers to young adults with disabilities transitioning from high school to college to improve occupational opportunities.- Participated in the analysis of data and prepared a graphical representation of a statewide data collection effort for use by faculty, university administrators and policy makers.- Analyzed video interviews of research participants and coded common themes during the interviews and assisted the technology staff in making videos discussing “program change” and how best they could be made available to faculty around the state.- Analyzed a survey conducted by the University of Washington and the Educational Testing Service. Presented graphical results for use by the professors and collaborators.
