His experience spans from building complex database management software, video software and hardware, groundbreaking AR/VR technology over to mass market consumer products like tablets and Kindle e-readers. At Amazon, Tewes was the GM for Amazon Glow, a new-to-world consumer device connecting children and remote family members. Prior to that role, he led product management for Kindle E-reader and Amazon Fire Tablets. As CEO of Avegant, Tewes has raised $50M in venture capital funding. A recognized business and thought leader in video and augmented reality, Tewes was in charge of the development, commercialization and marketing of Avegant’s Mixed Reality Light Field Technology and the development and launch of its award-winning product, the Glyph.Before Avegant, Tewes was a member of Logitech's worldwide leadership team, successfully managing several business units with full P&L responsibility of over $250M. As General Manager of Logitech Webcams, he launched Logitech's full lineup of HD Webcams, such as the award-winning C910. He also managed Logitech’s Digital Home unit, which he transformed into a leading home control platform.As VP of Engineering at Avid/Pinnacle Systems, Tewes was responsible for the company’s consumer hardware and software development.Tewes spent the first 10 years of his career at Poet Holdings, a German technology startup pioneering object data management technology. In his role as VP Engineering and Product Development, he built a world-class product team leading up to the company’s successful IPO in 1999.He holds a Diploma in Computer Science from the Technical University of Berlin.
