About Joe Rutledge

I am thrilled to have joined the Boeing Company and be a contributor to the future of Vertical Lift technologies and innovations as a mechanical engineer. I look forward to the challenges and great events that are upcoming in this role and what I can achieve for both Boeing as well personally.Previously, I was a practicing mechanical engineer working at PCC Aerostructures in aerospace machining with a specialization in precision lathe turning including 3 and 4-axis CNC programming. I have experience in lean manufacturing, 2D and 3D modeling, as well as the drafting of engineering drawings including GD&T. My past challenges have helped me to learn new skills such as finite element analysis(FEA) as well as additive manufacturing for the use of rapid prototyping and continuous engineering.My hobbies include restoration of cars and motorcycles, such as my current project - a 1980 Honda CB750F motorcycle, mountain biking to stay fit, and FDM 3D printing with my in-home 3D printer to produce my designs and continue my pursuit of learning what leads to fantastic design principles.
