Joe Thorne is a Partner and the Chair of the Litigation Practice Group in the St. John's office of Stewart McKelvey, and is Co-Practice Group Leader for the Firm's Restructuring and Insolvency Group. Joe has a broad litigation practice, with particular focuses in bankruptcy and insolvency, insurance defence, and municipal law.Before joining Stewart McKelvey in St. John's, Joe worked in Toronto with one of Canada's largest law firms.Joe has argued successfully before the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Canada, the Quebec Superior Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
