Applications Development Manager (2012-2014)I took on the role of Manager of Application Development and was responsible for more than doubling the size of the dev staff, including, hiring, salary negotiation, training, reviews and general management. I helped form multiple scrum teams and establish uniform Scrum/Agile practices.Achievements:● Helped recruit and hire software developers, taking the overall team from 4 devs to 10● Helped form multiple distinct scrum teams, each participating and communicating as part of a larger app dev organization to share code, tools, and dev processes. Initially participated in each one to help ensure consistency in processes● Had up to 10 direct reports● Led the adoption of ‘full stack development’ whereby each dev team member was responsible for nearly all the code and ops infrastructure to support their software stack● Oversaw the adoption of Angular as our standard for MV* development in the browser which led to far more consistent and tested client code within our web SPA applicationsApp Dev Technical Lead (2006-2012)In this role, I was the technical lead of a team of ~5 software developers responsible for the design, construction, delivery and maintenance of all web-based products. During this time my team came up with a repeatable software design (Model-View-Presenter based) which was extensible and testable, allowing for rapid delivery within two distinct niches of the transportation/logistics business.Achievements:● Designed a loosely-coupled, testable, middle-tier and web app architecture● Achieved regular, reliable deployments so that customers received frequent feature and general improvement updates● Designed and implemented dev, test, and production environments and the corresponding tools for deploying applications across these environments in a 100% automated fashion● Responsible for all support within the prod environment, including 24x7x365 coverage
