Achieved production scale-up to support $24M/Yr revenue.+ Implemented Supply Chain improvements utilizing lean manufacturing techniques resulting in inventory turns improving from 4 - 8, and accuracy improving from 75% to 99.98%+ Put in place ISO 9001 Quality Assurance systems resulting in reagent kit workmanship defects reduced from 20% to less than 1%.

Nanogen developed, manufactured and marketed automated molecular biology work stations, electronic micro-arrays and disposables for the detection of genetic mutations. Responsible for 40 Manufacturing, Product Support, Purchasing and Facilities personnel with a budget of $6M. Worked with Hitachi to transfer a newly developed instrument and disposable into manufacturing and launched 8 new assays (ASR's) in one year.+ Used Lean Manufacturing techniques to reduce instrument manufacturing throughput time from almost six months to three weeks or less. Progeny Systems developed systems (instrument and reagents) used to measure fertility in veterinary applications. Nichols Institute Diagnostics was a provider of manual test kits that hired me to transfer the design of a newly-purchased automated immunoassay platform to the U.S. and establish complete manufacturing and support capability. Reported to the CEO, responsible for Operations and Field Service.+ Coordinated efforts of engineering teams at three separate companies to complete development and launch Nichols first instrument on time and under budget.+ Established complete ISO 9001 Operations capabilities for Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Service - strategy, personnel hires, equipment selection, etc., and grew to $50M revenue.+ Developed a highly effective Field Service group using combination of service engineers and outsourced support.

As the first manufacturing engineer and then department leader I engineered the start-up and growth of manufacturing from $0 to $300M before the company merged with Dade to form Dade-Behring.+ Established manufacturing process that supported growth from 0 - $20M in first year and subsequent growth to $300M.+ Succcessfully transferred a $150M manufacturing operation from Syva Corporation (San Jose, CA) to Westwood, MA as a result of merger/acquisition.
