Joseph Waterfield serves as an officer of the Firm and brings the breadth of experience gained from over thirty years of varied experience in the consulting profession and the manufacturing industry. Mr. Waterfield has served as Project Manager on a broad variety of assignments involving such diverse activities as manufacturing flow and layout studies, industrial plant expansions, municipal privatization, retail and commercial construction, utility mapping, military facility design, and environmental treatment. Mr. Waterfield is adept at managing the activities of multi-disciplined design teams, consultants, and contractors to develop and implement solutions for clients. His management approach derives from an ability to see each client’s objectives from their perspective and then match the resources of the Firm with the requirements to meet those objectives. Mr. Waterfield has developed his understanding of a client’s needs from ten years experience managing a manufacturing business and twenty-three years experience in serving clients as an engineering consultant. He understands the importance of open communications and building trust between all members of a project team. His role as Business Group Director has given him responsibility for monitoring budgets, schedules, quality, and manpower for both design and construction activities. He has managed assignments with multiple construction contracts, design-build teams, and various combinations of specialized consultants. His training as a Certified Energy Manager and a LEED Accredited Professional brings a sensitivity to environmental impacts and a practical appreciation of operational issues reflected in his approach to project development.
