Human Capital Plans And Development Specialist
5 Great Months! When my previous organization merged with another and I needed a new job, the USAG Human Resources Directorate welcomed me with open arms and gave me an incredible short-term opportunity. The position is described below but essentially I got to work on a couple of key projects for the West Point Garrison and the Army that led to a local Succession Management Program at the Garrison and the deployment of an Army-Wide Workforce Development Sharepoint Site.Responsible for carrying out substantive Human Capital Management (HCM) functions and planning through coordination with the Directorate of Human Resources (DHR), United States Army Garrison West Point (USAG WP), New York. These strategies encompass developing initiatives, plans, policies, procedures, and training to ensure USAG WP attracts the best talent for filling positions, and nurtures and manages human capital to successfully retain needed skills and high performers. Manages the HCM future plans and change-management initiatives. Assists/serves as the Garrison’s Workforce Development Program Specialist to assist the Command’s leadership in making the most effective decisions that support IMCOM, Installation Directorate-Training (ID-T) and USAG WP’s Strategic Plan, the Human Capital Management Plan (HCMP), and the workforce management and development initiatives.
Training Specialist
This was my dream job. One that I left another dream to pursue. Unfortunately, after a year this organization merged with another at Fort Leavenworth, KS and a move to the Mid-West wasn’t in the cards. 😢As an Army Training Specialist I developed and evaluated training and education materials pertaining to the Army Profession, Army Ethic, and Character Development.
Explorer Of New Ideas And Opportunities
After 20+ years of military service I took a short pause to focus on strengthening personal relationships and spending the summer as a stay-at-home dad. To pay the bills I did contract training, business development consulting, and worked on my Blog (www.VennLeader.com) based on a leader development model I’ve used for the last 15-years.
