I have 5+ years of experience in the environmental monitoring industry, including system integration, repair, technical documentation, technical sales, and pre-and-post-sale technical support. My educational background is in environmental science and laboratory analysis; however, my interest lies in the application of environmental technology. My present role includes working with clients (e.g., researchers, government officials, project managers, etc.) to design environmental monitoring systems that meet their project requirements. Beginning with pre-sales support, customers describe their monitoring needs, and I construct and quote a system using the latest environmental technology. From there, I integrate data loggers with sensors, including programming, setting up real-time telemetry, collecting quality data, and running a whole system test. I document each system and add technical articles to our knowledge base. After shipment, I provide startup instructions and technical support. The aspect of my job I enjoy most is working in multi-disciplinary teams. I routinely work with manufacturing, engineering, graphic design, sales, and senior management to ensure our systems are designed specifically for each customer's unique project. I always enjoy learning about the latest technology, communicating their use to our customers, and seeing their application in the field.
