ZF Wind Power designs and manufactures multi-megawatt gear units for wind turbines.My department improves and standardizes quality methods on a global level, in 5 ZF Wind Power plants (Lommel / Belgium; Coimbatore / India; Tianjin and Beijing / China; and Witten / Germany),to assure the highest quality of wind turbine gear units with state of the art machines, optimized procedures and trained people.I lead a team of 3 direct and 8 indirect reports, covering all inspection and quality assurance aspects from material quality at suppliers, over geometrical CMM and NDT inspection of components to final load testing of gear units.
Project Manager Quality Expansion Projects
Screened and recruited all process and quality engineers for the Hansen wind turbine plant in India.Defined factory Q layout; selected, negociated, purchased and coordinated the installation of all Q tools and machines for the Hansen / ZF Wind Power plants in Coimbatore (India) and Tianjin (China).Trained quality managers and engineers in ZF Wind Power Coimbatore (India), Tianjin (China) and Gainesville (USA) on all Q control and assurance aspects.Conducted design tolerance studies, introduced statistical tolerancing and developed Monte Carlo simulation models to calculate complex tolerance chains, leading to optimized tolerances for gear unit components.
